This month I’ve finally buckled down and started learning GODOT game engine. So far the only way I’ve been able to show you all the Flaminimi’s people have made is through these web pages, but now I’ve started a Flaminimi Gallery you can explore here. There’s not really much to explore at the moment though, and it only works on desktop. You can control one Flaminimi. Move with the arrow keys, jump with space. You can move the camera a little bit with a mouse. Besides that though there’s just one other blank Flaminimi, and a big blank room…
Well, not totally blank! There’s potential in there too ;)
Working on a website is sort of like having my own wall to decorate, but working in a game engine is like having a whole museum. Plus I’m not limited by pesky euclidean geometry or physics. I’m not sure exactly how I’ll organize the Flaminimis in this new realm, but I know there’s way more possibilities now.
In the past few months I was playing around with techniques to digitally craft outfits, and it’s as simple as working with actual paper! To me, Flaminia, who has years of experience with Blender. Cutting out magazines to make clothes is still 1000% more approachable to a normal person.
I’ll spend next month importing some of my favorite Flaminimi outfits, making a few new ones, and seeing what other features could make this gallery more exciting! Until then, here are some screenshots from the game engine I’m using.
